Healing the Impact of Trauma
"I've been in therapy before and participate in a 12-Step program, and I still get triggered. It's not great for my marriage and is even interfering with my work."
People can experience trauma in numerous ways from being in the Iraq War, growing up in family chaos when a parent is alcoholic, and/or being belittled and attacked in the workplace. EMDR (http://www.emdr.com/) has proven to be effective in helping individuals more quickly process and work through the emotional impact of trauma.
Going forward, they recognize and separate past experiences from present-day events and apply coping skills. They continue to heal and become more successful in personal and professional relationships.
