Has anyone ever heaped so much blame on you that you began to feel "wrong sauce" dripping all over you? OR have you been the one dishing out the attacks and blame?
As someone said to me, "I don't like to be made wrong." He certainly got that right. I don't know anyone who wants to sign up for wearing the black hat. So...the next time you find yourself tempted to tell the clerk at the register, your employee, your spouse or partner, your parent or child how they "always, never" give you the service you demand, the raise you deserve, or the love and respect you need and want, you may want to do the following before speaking:

- Take a few, maybe 10, deep breaths and keep breathing
- Stop to consider what you are REALLY angry and hurt about
- If you want to do something really wild, you COULD even wait a few hours or a day
- Take responsibility to think about how you can express your concern/complaint respectfully before speaking
